South Korea wants to build a base on the moon's surface by 2045. This was announced by the Korea Aerospace Administration according to a report by the Korea Times. To realize this dream, Korea will develop its own lunar landing vehicle along with a lunar surface rover.
With the construction of this base, South Korea could become one of the countries that explore the lunar surface. Several agencies have already begun testing prototypes on Earth with this terminology, which will later allow South Korea to carry out space mining activities that are expected to provide lucrative income.
The United States, Japan, China, the UK and Russia also want to build a base on the moon. In addition to being the first human habitat other than on Earth, this base will be used as a launch site for missions to Mars and many more in the future. Although the dream is still far in the future, cellular telecommunications systems and GPS have been developed. The question is when because the mission to land humans back on the moon has experienced several delays.
