Tecno has once again stolen the limelight with the introduction of the Phantom Ultimate G Fold, a tri-fold concept smartphone that features an attractive design and specifications. The device is billed as the world’s thinnest tri-fold phone yet, with a nearly 10-inch display that can be folded in two for better protection.
The Phantom Ultimate G Fold uses an inward folding system with two different hinges, one a waterdrop-shaped hinge and another large top hinge. This combination forms a “G”-shaped folding structure that allows the 9.94-inch main display to be folded completely into the body of the device. This ensures that the main screen is protected when the device is closed while maintaining the outer display that functions like a regular phone.
The design resembles the horizontal two-fold concept used in current foldable devices but with a neater approach. This design not only protects the screen from physical damage but also allows the device to be closed tightly without any empty space.
The concept phone measures just 11.49mm thick when folded and 3.49mm when fully unfolded. This makes it one of the thinnest tri-fold devices ever made. It features a 9.94-inch main display supported by an external screen for more practical everyday use. To achieve such a thin design, Tecno used high-quality materials such as 2,000MPa durable steel and a titanium fiber back panel that is only 0.3mm thick.
The Phantom Ultimate G Fold is equipped with a battery of over 5,000mAh which is an impressive feat considering its thin design. On the back, there are three cameras arranged horizontally in the middle of the device but the sensor configuration has not been revealed yet. Several other details are also kept secret for now including the size of the external display, overall weight and the type of processor chip which is only described as high-performance.
Tecno confirmed that the Phantom Ultimate G Fold will be showcased at the MWC 2026 event.
