Yesterday, Samsung introduced three of its latest foldable devices: the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 FE. Recently, a number of local telecommunications companies have begun the pre-order phase for these latest foldable devices.
CelcomDigi
Starting with CelcomDigi, they have started opening a pre-order page for both the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 devices starting today until 31 July 2025. CelcomDigi says that these devices will start shipping to customers starting 24 July 2025. This means that there is a chance for CelcomDigi customers to receive their Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Galaxy Z Flip7 devices earlier than the official sale date of 1 August 2025.
Depending on their subscription plan, CelcomDigi customers can get these devices through the Easy 360 device purchase program which offers a 24-month or 36-month subscription plan with a monthly price as low as RM93 if you are a CelcomDigi One Pro or One Ultra customer.
For CelcomDigi Postpaid 120 and Postpaid 140 customers, they will also receive a Samsung Galaxy Watch8 smartwatch for free. For CelcomDigi Postpaid 160 and above customers, they will also receive TWS Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro earphones along with the smartwatch.
For Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 pre-orders, those who subscribe to the CelcomDigi Postpaid 5G 120 and above plan will receive Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro earphones for free.
Every purchase of one of these devices with the Easy 360 plan will also give you a free PhoneCARE Swap & Replace plan subscription for the first two months. You can choose to continue the plan subscription after this period if you wish.
If you want to know more about the details of CelcomDigi's Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 pre-order plans, they have also provided a dedicated FAQ page for this plan.
Maxis
Maxis has also opened pre-orders for both the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 devices with the same 12GB and 512GB memory and storage offerings.
Users are given three subscription plan options, two via the Maxis Zerolution device plan, and one via a 24-month contract where customers will have to make an upfront payment of RM6099 for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and then pay RM199 every month for the next 24 months.
With the Zerolution plan, there is no upfront payment to be made, and the monthly payments to be made for these devices are RM479 for 24 months and RM384 for 36 months.
For the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 device, the upfront payment for the 24-month contract subscription is RM3499 with a monthly payment of RM299 for 24 months. With the Zerolution plan, the payment for the 24-month contract is RM359 per month, and for the 36-month Zerolution contract, the payment for each month is RM299.
To take advantage of the Maxis Zerolution device plan, customers also need to subscribe to Maxis postpaid plans starting from Maxis Postpaid Share 48 to Maxis Postpaid 199. Those who pre-order this device will also receive a two-year Maxis Device Care Plus subscription plan for free.
The price paid by customers at the end of each month is a combination of the price of the phone network plan and the device contract.
U Mobile
U Mobile comes with a more unique offering compared to CelcomDigi and Maxis, where they offer additional storage options, with 256GB and 512GB models for both the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 devices.
Depending on the device plan chosen, namely U SaveMore or U PayLater, customers can choose to pay for the device upfront, with cheaper installment payments, or a more expensive monthly payment, but do not have to pay the initial cost of the device.
For example, if you choose the U Family 128 data plan together with the U SaveMore device plan and a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 512GB device, you will have to pay the device cost of RM6307 as an upfront payment, and a monthly payment of RM128 for the next 24 months.
But if you choose the data plan together with the same device, and choose the U PayLater payment plan, the initial amount to be paid is only RM128, but the monthly amount is seen as high as RM419 for 24 months.
In the meantime, U Mobile is also seen introducing a special pre-order plan where if you pre-order a Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 with a combination of the U Family 128 plan and the U PayLater contract, you will also receive a Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 device for free with a subscription price of RM361 per month for 36 months, and an initial payment of RM128
Yes 5G
Yes 5G confirmed that they will open pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 and Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7 devices, but it will only open on July 15. However, they have revealed certain details such as the device subscription price, along with data plan subscription and contract duration (24 months, 36 months) for
With the Standard plan
For the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7, Yes revealed that you will need to subscribe to at least the Infinite Standard 88 plan up to the Infinite Ultra 178 plan, where just like U Mobile, they also offer the device with two storage options, namely 256GB and 512GB.
With the Infinite Standard 88 plan, you can pre-order the device along with a 36-month device contract at RM155 per month if you choose the 256GB model. or RM185 with a device with 512GB storage.
For the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip7, customers can get this device with the Infinite Basic 58 plan and if you choose the model with 256GB storage, the amount to be paid each month for 36 months is RM100, while the 512GB model costs RM120 for the same period.
What is not known at this time is whether Yes 5G will offer a low down payment as shown on the Samsung Galaxy 25 series of devices earlier this year.
If you are not so keen on tying yourself to a telco plan contract, Samsung Malaysia has also opened pre-orders for both devices, even offering a combination of 16GB and 1TB memory and storage for the Galaxy Z Fold7 which is not or has not been offered by any telco so far.
