WhatsApp is developing a new feature called Quick Recap. It aims to help users understand unread messages in a more organized and efficient way. It is also designed to make it easier for users to get a comprehensive overview of important conversations without having to manually read messages one by one.
Through the Quick Recap function, users can select up to five conversations that they want to summarize. The application will generate a summary of important messages from each selected conversation. This feature is expected to increase the productivity of users, especially those who frequently receive large amounts of messages.
What makes it unique is the use of Private Processing technology developed by Meta. This technology acts as a secure processing space where user messages are processed privately and cannot be accessed by any party including WhatsApp and Meta. Selected messages will be protected through advanced encryption and foreign processing to ensure that data remains confidential throughout the process.
WhatsApp also maintains protection for conversations that use the Advanced Chat Privacy feature. Conversations that have been activated with this feature will not be included in Quick Recap to respect the user's choice to avoid the use of AI in certain conversations.
Quick Recap is an optional feature that needs to be manually enabled by users through the app settings. The feature is currently under development and is expected to be rolled out to the public in a future update.
