Apple is already lagging far behind in the artificial intelligence arena compared to its closest competitors such as Google and Microsoft. Functions announced more than a year ago have still not arrived, in addition to Siri which is also seen as still not receiving the promised updates.
Through the latest Bloomberg sharing, it shows the internal situation at Apple, where initially Apple targeted that users would not use the chatbot feature powered by artificial intelligence, making them not pay attention to the artificial intelligence arena, and falling behind in the race. Some parties in Apple are also said to be quite skeptical about the ChatGPT-like feature offering at first.
In addition, Apple is also seen to be comfortable with the search partnership with Google, which brings in revenue of up to $20 billion per year.
However, with more people relying on artificial intelligence lately, Apple is seen to be somewhat lagging behind and has now started to focus more on it. Tim Cook himself has recently said that he is willing to acquire an artificial intelligence company.
According to Bloomberg, Apple has also established a new division called AKI (Answers, Knowledge & Information), which will focus on developing a number of artificial intelligence services. The group's goal is to offer a search experience like ChatGPT.
The system is seen to be able to answer a number of user questions, including performing web searches for that purpose. In addition to this artificial intelligence-based engine, Apple is also said to be developing a new infrastructure that powers Siri.
It is not known how long Apple will take to develop it, and how they intend to continue racing in the rapidly moving artificial intelligence arena.
