Arm Neural Super Sampling Like FSR and DLSS Coming to Mobile Chips in 2026

At SIGGRAPH 2025, Arm showed off its own artificial intelligence (AI)-based graphics and frame rate enhancement feature, Neural Super Sampling (NSS). NSS is a feature similar to AMD FSR and NVIDIA DLSS that allows graphics to be further enhanced than before. Arm says NSS will increase graphics resolution by up to 2x with each frame generated in 4ms.

With NSS, the load on the GPU can be reduced by up to 50% compared to now, which will have a positive impact on battery performance and device heat generation. The first GPU chips that will support NSS will be launched by Arm starting next year.

They have already partnered with Enduring Games, Epic Games (Unreal Engine), NetEase Games, Sumo Digital, Tencent Games, and Traverse Research to support NSS in their mobile games.

In addition to NSS, Arm will also support Neural Frame Rate Upscaling (NFRU) and Neural Super Sampling and Denoising (NSSD) features on their chips starting in 2026. NFRU will increase frame rates while NSSD will improve graphics quality, both with the help of AI. Arm hopes that with the introduction of these AI-based features, the graphics quality of games on mobile devices will be on par with desktops.
