Donald Trump, through the social media site Truth Social, today published a post saying that Intel's new CEO, Lip-Bu Tan, must resign immediately due to a major conflict. Donald Trump emphasized that there is no other solution to this problem, and Lip-Bu Tan must resign.
Lip-Bu Tan was appointed CEO of Intel in March 2025. He was born in Malaysia and now holds US citizenship.
Lip-Bu Tan was previously ready to make a number of investments in a number of companies focused on chip production based in China. However, previous reports have come forward saying that he has sold his stake in all firms and entities in China. His expertise and knowledge in the semiconductor field made him chosen to lead and repair Intel, which has been in trouble for the past few years.
However, several things have also been questioned, including concerns about the secrets being sold to China and also the CEO's ties to firms in China. Previously, Cadence Design, led by Lip-Bu Tan between 2008 and 2021, was previously said to be involved in selling chip design software to a Chinese military university, and was fined by the US government.
Donald Trump's partnership also caused mixed reactions from a number of parties, including having a negative impact on the current price of Intel shares. Several analysts also said that the President should not interfere in the management of a private company, and determine who leads it.
