Starting 1 September 2025, the Bukit Aman Traffic Investigation and Enforcement Department (JSPT) is implementing the e-Police Reporting initiative with Bank Negara Malaysia. This allows the public to report accidents online without having to go to the nearest police station.
This pilot project will be carried out along the North-South Expressway (PLUS) and only involves minor accidents. It also focuses on private vehicles involved without any injuries, and no damage to other vehicles or public property.
This initiative provides convenience to road users, especially those who experience accidents while traveling to work or returning home. PDRM combines traffic investigation expertise with Bank Negara Malaysia's financial regulatory functions to speed up the insurance claim process.
To ensure the smooth implementation of the project, PDRM is also collaborating with the Ministry of Transport Malaysia (MOT), the Road Transport Department (JPJ) and the National Financial Crimes Control Centre (NFCC). The General Insurance Association of Malaysia (PIAM) and the Malaysian Takaful Association (MTA) represent the general insurance and takaful industries, expressing full support for this initiative.
If this project is successful, the Royal Malaysian Police will expand its implementation nationwide to benefit more road users.
