Pixel Devices Updated to Resolve Navigation Button Not Working Issue

There are still many Android device owners who are still comfortable using the three-button navigation system instead of gestures. This is because more and more manufacturers are enabling gesture mode by default the first time the device is turned on. For Pixel owners, many are complaining that the device's navigation buttons are experiencing issues with not working properly after upgrading to Android 16.

The August update began to be given yesterday and it contains a patch to resolve this navigation button issue. The issue is in the form of the back button stalling for up to 30 seconds before it can detect a touch and causing owners to have to switch to gesture control mode. The issue appears on the Pixel 8 and Pixel 9 series.

Google did not say why this issue appears and only said that it only occurs in certain situations. The August update can be downloaded on Pixel 6 devices and above OTA via device settings.
