Samsung Display has introduced a new brand for its foldable screen technology called MONT FLEX. The name is taken from the French word for mountain as a symbol of innovation in foldable display technology.
Each letter has its own meaning that describes the main strength of their foldable OLED panels.
The letter M represents high mechanical durability, indicating the panel's ability to withstand repeated folding without compromising performance.
The letter O refers to a flat surface with visual and physical protection technology that provides a clearer display with minimal folding effects.
The letter N represents a small bezel to provide a wider visual experience. The letter T denotes a thin and lightweight design to make the device more comfortable to use.
Samsung Display has been producing foldable OLED screens since 2019. Their new panels are now thinner, lighter and can withstand up to 500,000 folds compared to 200,000 folds previously. UTG and LEAD technologies are used to increase brightness and reduce thickness.
The introduction of this brand aims to strengthen Samsung's position as an industry leader, as well as highlight the unique value of the product to consumers and partners.
