U Mobile today demonstrated its ability to develop its own 5G network infrastructure through today’s announcement, where it has introduced Ultra5G, a fast 5G Internet experience exclusively for U Mobile customers, now offered inside Berjaya Times Square shopping mall.
U Mobile used Berjaya Times Square shopping mall to demonstrate U Mobile’s ability to develop a super-fast 5G network for their customers to use no matter where they are in the building, be it in the shopping area, elevators, toilets or underground parking zones.
Ultra5G is powered by enterprise-grade intelligent network technology and is capable of meeting the needs of Malaysia’s growing digital future. To showcase the capabilities of the Ultra5G experience network, U Mobile presented several demonstrations, including Malaysia’s first 4K live streaming of the 800-metre roller coaster at Berjaya Times Square Theme Park, the longest indoor roller coaster in Asia Pacific with multiple inversions lasting approximately two and a half minutes per session.
The demonstration showcased the capabilities of U Mobile’s 5G network when streaming content at fast speeds, and also from floor-to-floor without the streaming being interrupted. It shows that no matter where you are, or how fast you are moving, U Mobile’s in-building 5G network is not only fast, but stable and has a range that promises uninterrupted connectivity no matter where you are.

U Mobile said that the Ultra5G experience is now available to all U Mobile 5G network customers, regardless of whether they are on a prepaid or postpaid plan. The Ultra5G experience is expected to be introduced in more strategic indoor areas such as airports, hospitals, convention centres, and high-impact indoor and outdoor areas nationwide.
For now, U Mobile says that the Ultra5G experience can be enjoyed at Berjaya Times Square shopping mall and along the Penang Bridge, which have been installed with 5G SA (5G Stand Alone) radio networks. U Mobile also has plans to increase the reach of their second 5G network to 80 percent of populated areas nationwide by the end of 2026.
