Computer Manufacturers Expected to Turn to CXMT for Consumer Product Memory Needs

We previously reported on a Chinese memory manufacturing company, ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT), where several former Samsung engineers were indicted in a South Korean court for selling the company's memory manufacturing secrets.

However, it appears that CXMT has begun mass production of their RAM components, and is now selling their memory offerings to the local market at more affordable prices than the current market.

This has apparently led a number of computer manufacturing companies such as Acer, Dell, HP and others to seek CXMT's services to supply their memory components for consumer products.

For now, it seems that these companies have enough existing memory supplies until the middle of this year before they will be forced to raise their offering prices dramatically.

Dell in particular has reportedly started testing the capabilities of CXMT's memory before they decide to buy the memory for their computers. Acer and ASUS are also looking to China to see if they can source memory supplies that are not produced by companies like Samsung, SK Hynix and Micron.
