A mixed reality (MR) headset with Android XR has been developed by Samsung for over a year now using the code name Project Moohan. Recently, the official name of this headset has been leaked and it will be called Galaxy XR.
The Sammobile site analyzed the latest APK of the Camera Assistant application and not only found the name of the headset but also found that the 3D photo and video recording feature will also be introduced. At this time, this feature is supported on the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
With the launch of the Galaxy S26 series to be done in January next year, this feature will definitely be given to this device and possibly also the Galaxy Z series. The Galaxy XR will be the third headset developed by Samsung after the Gear VR and HMD Odyssey which are no longer offered.
The development of the Galaxy XR was previously delayed after the Vision Pro was launched, believed to be to add new features. The Android XR demo shown during Google I/O showed that this operating system will share the same features as Apple's visionOS.
