Paramount Skydance Reportedly Wants to Take Over Warner Bros. Discovery

Paramount Skydance is reportedly looking to take over Warner Bros. Discovery with the acquisition backed by Larry Ellison, who for a brief moment this week was the richest man in the world. The merger, if it happens, would make Paramount and Warner Bros. the second-largest studio behind Walt Disney Studios.

For subscribers, the HBO Max and Paramount+ streaming services will be combined to provide a more diverse selection of content. For the first time, DC superhero content, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones, MTV, CSI and Mission Impossible will be under the same umbrella.

Meanwhile, in the United States, CBS News and CNN will also have the same owner. Warner Bros. Discovery is experiencing various issues after undergoing its own merger process a few years ago. HBO Go was renamed Max before being renamed HBO Max again with the parent company being separated from Discovery.
