GoPro has introduced two new action cameras, the GoPro Max 2 and GoPro Lit Hero. Both offer enhanced recording capabilities to meet the needs of modern users.
The GoPro Max 2 is a 360-degree action camera that can record 8K/30FPS video. It is equipped with interchangeable lenses with waterproof optical glass, supports professional color recording (GP Log) and is capable of capturing over a billion colors.
The camera can also record 360-degree photos at 29MP resolution and edit them via the GoPro Quik app. It also supports 2x slow-motion recording at 5.6K 60fps and 3x at 4K 100fps. Interestingly, the Max 2 is the only 360-degree camera with built-in GPS.
GoPro Max 2
The GoPro Max 2 features six microphones for 360-degree audio recording with support for Field-of-View Audio and 360 studio audio. Ambisonics 360 support will also be added via a future update.
It uses a 1960mAh Enduro battery that is weatherproof and powered by AI for smart editing such as object tracking and MotionFrame. A total of 16 new accessories are included, including Invisible Mounting for drone-like footage.
GoPro Lit Hero
The GoPro Lit Hero is a lightweight action camera (weighing 93 grams) that can record 4K60FPS video and supports 2x slow motion. It is waterproof up to five meters, comes with a durable design and a built-in light for use in a variety of conditions.
The camera supports 4:3 aspect ratio recording and 12MP photos using a small sensor with a fixed wide-angle lens equivalent to 15mm f/2.3. The included Enduro battery allows for up to 100 minutes of continuous recording in 4K resolution.
Meanwhile, the Fluid Pro AI Gimbal supports AI-based subject tracking for cameras and smartphones. It can accommodate devices up to 400 grams, features a three-axis system, mount conversion support and a ‘Fill Light’ light. The gimbal also offers 18 hours of battery life and can be used as an additional power source for connected devices.
