Huawei has launched two new smartwatches, the Huawei Watch GT 6 and GT 6 Pro. Both feature a modern design, clear AMOLED screens, long-lasting batteries and improved health and sports features.
The Huawei GT 6 Pro comes in three colors, namely Black, Brown and Titanium with a durable titanium alloy frame. The watch strap is offered in three types according to the color such as black fluoroelastomer, brown composite weave and titanium.
The watch uses a 1.47-inch AMOLED screen with a resolution of 466 × 466 pixels and a peak brightness of 3000 nits. The new battery technology with higher silicon content helps increase energy density by 37%. The battery can last up to 21 days for light use, 12 days for normal use and 7 days with the display always on.
The sensors included include ECG, temperature, heart rate, barometer and ambient light. It also features a more accurate TruSense sensor for cycling and trail running. The improved location tracking system allows for the display of metrics such as current gradient, average gradient and gradient range.
New features such as group cycling tracking allow users to see the current location and status of group members in real time. The watch also supports connections to third-party sensors such as power meters and speed sensors. The built-in virtual power meter allows users to see current and average power while cycling without an additional device.
Other additional features include a special mode for wheelchair users, golf activity maps and diving support up to 40 meters with the EN13319 standard. The watch is IP69 and 5 ATM waterproof but is not suitable for hot showers, saunas or diving beyond 40 meters. In terms of connectivity, the Huawei GT 6 Pro supports NFC, multi-band GNSS and is equipped with a speaker and microphone for Bluetooth calls.
The Huawei Watch GT 6 comes in two sizes, 46 mm and 41 mm. Both models use an AMOLED screen with a resolution of 466 × 466 pixels. The 46 mm version features a 1.47-inch screen with a density of 317 PPI, while the 41 mm version uses a 1.32-inch screen with a density of 352 PPI. The watch case is made of stainless steel and is offered with a choice of straps such as Fluoroelastomer, composite weave, composite leather and Milanese.
The watch is equipped with sensors such as an accelerometer, gyroscope, magnetometer, optical heart rate, barometer, temperature and ambient light. The 46 mm model offers a battery life of up to 21 days for light use and 12 days for regular use. The 41 mm model can last up to 14 days for light use and 7 days for regular use.
Just like the Pro version, Huawei has also upgraded the TruSense sensor and algorithm. The main focus of this generation is cycling and trail running activities with heart rate accuracy of up to 98% for cycling and 95% for trail running. The watch also supports connectivity to various third-party sensors such as speed sensors, power meters and cycling sensors.
The watch supports 5 ATM and IP69 waterproofing, which is suitable for swimming. It also supports NFC, Bluetooth 6.0 and multi-band GNSS including GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, GALILEO, QZSS and NavIC. The Huawei Watch GT 6 is also equipped with a speaker and microphone for Bluetooth calls.
