Microsoft has now started notifying Microsoft 365 users, saying that the Outlook Lite app will be discontinued effective October 6, 2025. After that date, no new installations will be allowed for the Outlook Lite app, and users will have to download the full Outlook app.

The termination of the Outlook Lite app will also allow Microsoft to focus its investment in the development of the full Outlook app, and provide more features and usability through it. For existing users, you can use Outlook Lite temporarily, and it is expected to also stop working moving forward.
