Sony Releases Special Edition Book and Shoes to Celebrate PlayStation's 30th Anniversary

Sony's PlayStation console will celebrate its 30th anniversary in Europe and America this year. Since its launch, more than 500 million PlayStation, PlayStation 2, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, PlayStation Portable (PSP) and PlayStation Vita units have been sold. In celebration of this anniversary, Sony is releasing a limited edition book and shoes for die-hard fans.

First up is the 400-page PlayStation: The First 30 Years book, which contains the history of the PS console's development from the perspectives of Ken Kutaragi, Teiyu Goto, and Yujin Morisawa. In addition, prototypes, concept designs, rejected designs, and a variety of never-before-seen information will be included in this book. It is offered in Standard Edition and Deluxe Edition versions, which are 1994 copies.

To celebrate the anniversary of the PlayStation's launch in Japan, Europe, and the United States, three PlayStation edition Reebok sneakers will also be on sale. The PlayStation X Reebok collection consists of the InstaPump Fury 94 for Japan, the Pump Omni Zone II for the U.S., and the Workout Plus for the UK.

All three shoes will be available starting October in limited quantities in a box designed to resemble the original packaging of the console when it launched in 1994. In addition to the color matching the first console, PlayStation-themed laces and accessories are also included with each pair of shoes.

The regular edition of the PlayStation: The First 30 Years book can be pre-ordered for £95 (~RM 538) each, while the limited edition is priced at £425 (~RM 2406) and will be available next year. Meanwhile, the Reebok Instapump Fury shoes are priced at ¥37,000 (~RM 1049), the Reebok Pump Omni Zone II is priced at $220 (~RM 927), and the Reebok Workout Plus is priced at £150 (~RM 849).
