This week, the government has started sharing about the Budi95 petrol subsidy program that will be implemented starting at the end of this month. Through it, Malaysian citizens with MyKad will enjoy petrol at RM1.99 per litre for up to 300 litres, every month.
One of the things that worries many is the need to scan MyKad at the petrol pump to enjoy the subsidised price. For your information, users can also use several alternatives, namely to start with three applications.
The three applications are TNG eWallet, Setel at Petronas, and CaltexGo at Caltex. Support for the Shell application is expected to be introduced in about a month.
Application users need to verify their identity in the application, thus making the fuel filling process easier without having to take out MyKad each time to fill up. Meanwhile, users who do so without the relevant application will need to scan MyKad at the petrol pump each time to enjoy petrol at the subsidised price.
