WhatsApp is developing a new feature that will allow users to mute “mention everyone” mentions in group conversations.
This feature gives users additional control over the notifications they receive, whether they want to continue receiving important alerts or choose to avoid interruptions entirely. This option will be available in the notification settings and is expected to be introduced in a future update.
Previously, any group member could use the “mention everyone” feature without having to be an admin. This allowed each participant to send notifications to all group members with just one tag. While it makes communication easier, overuse can cause disruption and discomfort among members.
As a solution, WhatsApp is introducing this control feature to allow users to tailor their experience to their individual needs. More information about this feature will only be shared once it is available.
