Amazon Reportedly Will Lay Off Around 30,000 Corporate Employees

Amazon has previously been said to want to replace around 600,000 of their human workers with robots in the next few years, thus reducing operating costs and making operations more efficient. Not only that, it is now reported that Amazon will lay off around 30,000 corporate employees in the near future. This is estimated to involve 10% of the company's corporate employees.

This will make it one of the largest layoffs. Among the sectors expected to be affected are human resources, operations, devices and services, and others. This employee reduction measure is expected to involve various businesses under Amazon. It is also said that this layoff is an extension of over-hiring during the previous pandemic era.

For your information, previously the CEO of Amazon was quoted as saying that with the development of AI agents, the number of corporate employees needed is lower. Various companies have begun to take steps in this direction, thus further reducing the company's operating costs, and allowing the company to move faster.

For now, Amazon has not issued any comments regarding this.
