Meta is ready to offer the “Stories” feature on Instagram and “Status” on WhatsApp that disappear after a period of 24 hours. Now, the same concept is also brought to Threads with the introduction of the “Ghost Post” feature.
To use it, in the Threads app, while writing, you will be shown a switch to activate “Ghost Post”. Once activated, the share will be published and bring a different share display design with a gray background, and a dotted line around it as a dialogue.
This share will not display any replies, instead if anyone chooses to reply to it, it will be sent directly to the user’s DM. After a period of 24 hours, the share will disappear, and will only appear in the archive section for the user who published the share.
This new feature is being introduced gradually to all users worldwide.
