Apple Ends Video Editing App, Clips

Apple has now announced that Clips, their video editing app, will no longer be updated, and will no longer be offered for download to new users. Existing users can continue to use Clips, but it will not receive any updates for it.

Apple previously introduced Clips in 2017, in an effort to make it easier for people to edit videos using it, before publishing them on social media. However, the application itself was not widely marketed by Apple, and it is not widely used.

Today, among the popular similar applications is Capcut published by Bytedance, in addition to Edits by Meta which is also increasing in popularity. Apple itself recommends users to use other applications such as InShot, GoPro Quik, and VN Video Editor as alternatives to the discontinued Clips.
