Apple Vision Pro Updated With M5 Chip and New Headrest

The Apple Vision Pro was also launched tonight with the Apple M5 chip along with the new iPad Pro and MacBook Pro 14. In terms of design, it is still the same as the model launched two years ago but with a more powerful M5 chip and the visionOS 26 operating system.

To solve the issue of being uncomfortable to wear due to weight, the new Vision Pro comes with a Dual Knit Band headband that fastens at the back and top of the head. With the M5 chip, the Vision Pro's OLED screen can display 10% more pixels and supports refresh rates up to 120Hz.

It is equipped with 12 cameras, 5 sensors, and 6 microphones to offer realistic translucent images with a latency of only 12 milliseconds, aided by the Apple R1 chip. Apple also says that there are 3000 applications now designed specifically for visionOS. This is in the form of permua, streaming platforms, productivity applications and also immersive entertainment content with spatial audio.

Like the first-generation model, it can be used in virtual mode, see-through mode, and paired with a macOS computer for a mixed reality experience. While it can be controlled by hand, it supports the Sony PlayStation DualSense and PlayStation VR2 Sense controllers.

The Apple Vision Pro with the M5 chip will go on sale on October 22nd starting at $3499 (~RM 11,425) each with storage options of 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB. It is currently only available in Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Japan, UAE, UK, China, Singapore, and the US.
