ColorOS 16 is launched globally with comprehensive improvements to the user experience. The system is built on animation technology from the previous version. Now, it features the Seamless Animation feature that offers smoother movement for every interaction in the operating system.
It comes with two main technologies designed to improve the smoothness of the system, namely Luminous Rendering Engine and Trinity Engine. Luminous Rendering Engine technology ensures that every display and movement in the system remains smooth. Meanwhile, Trinity Engine helps the chip function more efficiently, thus ensuring the best performance and energy saving.
The interface has also been redesigned with natural light and shadow elements to produce a cleaner, modern and user-friendly display. Through this system, users can set images or videos as backgrounds, choose fonts according to their tastes and receive smart text suggestions generated by AI for a more personalized experience.
The Always-On Display (AOD) feature now supports full-screen display allowing users to clearly see background images and important information, and open the lock screen with one touch. With the new Flux Home Screen feature, users can resize icons while the home screen layout will automatically adjust with smoother motion.
ColorOS 16 comes with AI Portrait Glow to produce clearer portraits in low light. It also offers AI Eraser, AI Unblur, and AI Reflection Remover functions to simplify the editing process. The built-in video editor is also enhanced with Master Cut that supports video trimming, speed control, music, text, and various additional settings.
In addition, the system supports O+ Connect for Mac and Windows to allow users to control their computers and manage phone files more easily.
