DJI Neo 2 Selfie Drone Launched With LiDAR System to Avoid Collisions

DJI Neo 2 was launched with is a continuation of the original DJI Neo selfie drone that was sold last year. Neo 2 is a small-sized drone with a protective grille on the propeller to prevent damage in the event of a collision.

DJI Neo is a mini drone that weighs only 151 grams and is designed to be launched from the palm of your hand. In addition to the closed propeller that prevents hands from being injured, it also has a collision avoidance system with an infrared camera and LiDAR.

The camera system consists of a 1/2-inch sensor that captures images at 12MP resolution. Although the old sensor is reused, it is matched with a wider 119.8° lens and captures videos at a higher frame rate of 60 FPS. The flight speed is up to 12 m/s or around 43 km/h.

Because it is small, it can be controlled directly via a smartphone without the usual physical controls. In addition, it still has a mode to follow the user's journey, fly around and vlog mode. If you have a DJI Mic, audio can be recorded directly from the microphone to the Neo's video clips automatically. The drone can fly for 19 minutes on a single charge, fly at an altitude of 2000 meters and be controlled up to 7km from the operator.

In China, the DJI Neo is priced at RMB 1499 (~RM 883) for the drone alone, RMB 1999 (~RM 1788) for a bundle with additional batteries, and RMB 3699 (~RM 2180) for a bundle with additional batteries, Goggles N3 and a remote control.
