Instagram is rolling out a new feature today that gives users the power to change the algorithm to be more in-line with interests. Users can add and remove topics they want to see in their timeline.
Initially, the new algorithm will be applied to Reels first, with plans to expand it to Explore soon. Instagram head Adam Mosseri said the feature will also be brought to Threads later.
According to Mosseri, the introduction of this feature is to give more control over the Instagram experience by providing a new way to shape what is seen. This feature is similar to the FYP algorithm reset that TikTok has been giving users since 2023.
