Intel announced the Crescent Island GPU, designed specifically for data center needs to perform artificial intelligence (AI) inference tasks. Crescent Island focuses on power efficiency, high-capacity memory, and reduced costs for customers.
Crescent Island is built using the Xe3P microarchitecture for optimized performance-to-wattage, 160GB of LPDDR5X memory, and support for a wide range of data types including token-as-a-service providers.
Intel is currently developing open and unified software for a variety of AI systems. Crescent Island samples will be available to customers by H2 2026.
