Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, is now targeting that we may see data centers built in space in the next 10 to 20 years, showing that they operate better than on Earth.
This includes cooling, as well as direct energy use through the integration of solar energy. Today, one of the challenges in building data centers is the need for a location with sufficient energy and water supply for a data center.
Jeff Bezos is targeting that we will turn to the use of infrastructure in space to continue improving the quality of life on Earth. However, as always, it will have its own challenges, including in terms of maintenance and improvements, in addition to the cost of getting it into space.
