Kedah is now increasingly active in technology development. After launching the Kedah TV channel and there are expectations of placing a weather forecasting supercomputer in the state, the state government is now planning to establish the Kedah Science Centre at Kulim Hi-Tech Park.
This initiative aims to strengthen the science and technology ecosystem and attract the younger generation to the STEM field more comprehensively and effectively.
This was announced by Prof. Dr. Haim Hilman Abdullah, Chairman of the State Industry and Investment, Higher Education, Science, Technology and Innovation Committee in a statement quoted by Warta Kedah.

He also invited industry players at Kulim Hi-Tech Park to join hands to contribute to the community, especially local students who have the potential to become the future workforce and continue the state's technological development legacy. This can be considered another strategic step for Kedah in strengthening its position as a technology hub in Malaysia.
