The MacBook Pro 14″ M5 was launched late last night, retaining the design of the MacBook Pro 14″ M4 but with a more powerful chip. Reports emerged in Europe that Apple is not including a 70/96W USB-C charger for the MacBook Pro 14″ M5 with every purchase.
According to Apple, this is in preparation for the European Union (EU) directive to give consumers the option of not buying new products without a charger. This is for users who already have a USB-C charger before and thus reduce electronic waste in the EU.
For this reason, the selling price of all MacBook Pro 14″ M5 models in Europe except in the UK is 100 Euros cheaper because the charger is not included. In Malaysia, there is no similar bill with a charger provided with every purchase.
