The late Apple founder Steve Jobs will be honored on a special edition $1 coin by the United States Mint. Jobs and three other figures were selected for the American Innovation Coin series for their contributions to the US technology sector.
The iconic image of Jobs sitting cross-legged in his iconic turtleneck is engraved on the obverse of the coin. Also featured on the obverse is the phrase “Make Something Wonderful”.
The American Innovation Coin series began in 2018 to recognize the contributions of important figures in the United States.
Each state will nominate a figure and this year the governor of California nominated Jobs for his significant contributions to the state. The four-coin set featuring Steve Jobs will be available next year for $13.25.
