OxygenOS 16 has been officially announced as the latest operating system from OnePlus based on Android 16. It comes with various improvements, especially in artificial intelligence (AI) functions that are smarter and more responsive according to user behavior.
Among the main features introduced is Plus Mind, which can identify and capture content on the screen to be stored in a special space called Mind Space. It can be activated via the Plus key or a three-finger swipe up and the key can also be assigned to other functions.
OxygenOS 16 introduces Parallel Processing 2.0, which provides smoother navigation and system interaction animations. It also supports fluid animations for the lock screen and app drawer, and there is Flux Themes 2.0, which allows for interesting customizations such as Motion Photos and video wallpapers.
Users can also add visual effects that change according to how they interact. In addition, Gemini integration allows information from Mind Space to be used to produce more personalized and relevant content.
In terms of productivity, OxygenOS 16 is equipped with AI Writer that allows users to create content such as mind maps, charts and captions on social media. In addition, AI Scan makes it easy for users to scan documents and convert them to PDF format that can be easily shared.
For creativity, OxygenOS 16 offers AI Portrait Glow and AI Perfect Shot features for more attractive photo results. It also comes with AI PlayLab that provides access to experimental features such as YumSee and Party Up.
In addition, this system improves cross-ecosystem connectivity that allows OnePlus devices to connect with Windows PCs, Macs and Apple products such as Apple Watch for simultaneous notifications and health data tracking.
For tablets, OxygenOS 16 offers a more free and customizable interface according to user needs. The home screen has been improved with larger icons and dock, and supports up to 18 applications.
It also comes with multitasking features through Open Canvas that allows five applications to run simultaneously: three in split view and two in resizable floating windows.
