Realme has launched its latest flagship phones realme GT 8 and realme GT 8 Pro in China a while ago.
Both models come with a new design including a removable and customizable camera bump. It is also the first device from Realme to feature a collaboration with Ricoh for its camera technology.
The most interesting part is the design that Realme calls the ‘New Mechanical Assembly Design’. It allows this camera bump to be removed and replaced with various other designs.
Among the available options are Functional Robot with star-shaped screws, Classic Round Deco with a round finish, Square Deco which uses a metal panel and Transparent Rubik’s Cube which resembles a robot wearing a helmet.
The Realme GT8 Pro comes with a 6.79″ 2K Sky Dome OLED flat screen that supports a 144Hz refresh rate.
It uses Q10 + BOE Custom Luminous Materials technology with brightness up to 7000 nits (peak), 2000 nits (global), 1000 nits (manual) and 4000 nits (under sunlight) for more realistic color display.
The device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip with memory options up to 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB UFS 4.1 internal storage.
Realme GT8 Pro is equipped with the largest Ultra-Coverage Cold Front Cooling VC 7000mm² cooling system ever used by Realme to date for better heat dissipation.
It also comes with the R1 graphics chip that supports over 100 games with high image quality and low power consumption.
In addition, it is equipped with the AAC Ultra-Wideband Pulse Motor vibration motor with third-generation ESA technology for more realistic 4D vibration when playing games.
The device’s camera system consists of a 50MP Ricoh anti-glare main camera with a 1/1.56″ OIS sensor, a 50MP ultra-wide and a 200MP Samsung HP5 periscope telephoto with 3x optical zoom and up to 120x hybrid zoom.
This is the first Realme device with a Ricoh camera that also offers additional features such as True 200MP Mode, 8K Ultra-HD Photo and 25cm close-up telephoto. The front camera has a resolution of 32MP.
The device is equipped with a 7000mAh battery with 100W fast charging and 50W wireless charging. Other additional features include an ultrasonic in-screen fingerprint scanner, infrared sensor, stereo speakers and IP66, IP68 and IP69 resistance.
The Realme GT8 also shares many specifications with the Pro model including a 6.79″ 2K+ OLED screen (1440 x 3136 pixels) with a maximum brightness of 7000 nits. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage.
The camera system consists of a 50MP Ricoh GR anti-glare main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide and a 50MP telephoto periscope with 3x optical zoom and 120x hybrid zoom. The selfie camera has a resolution of 16MP. The device is also equipped with a 7000mAh battery with 100W fast charging but does not support wireless charging.
