WhatsApp, through a new update, is now seen to have started hiding the full URL for links shared through the chat window. With this step, it is seen to make the display cleaner than before.
However, it also leads to the risk that users will not be shown the full link on the initial display, and will have to tap on the link if they want to see the full link.
This new update is seen to be being tested in the beta stage, and may be expanded to everyone soon.
