Last year ASUS Republic Of Gamers offered their first WiFi 7 router, the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 to the local market with support for wireless data transmission speeds of up to 25Gbps. This week they finally started selling the ROG Rapture GT-BE19000AI which is an updated model with artificial intelligence (AI) support.
In terms of design, this router still comes with the aggressive design of the previous ASUS ROG Rapture, with eight antennas and the ROG logo, only it is now white. At first glance it looks like a facehugger from the movie Alien.
It won't get your chest ripped off by an alien but it will definitely rip your wallet because its selling price in the United States is $900 (~RM 3807). The price in Malaysia has not been announced but it is definitely at the same level as the ASUS ROG Rapture GT-BE98 which was sold at RM3988 last year.
The ROG Rapture GT-BE19000AI is offered for gamers who need fast internet, no latency and consistency all the time. This is done through an AI system controlled by a processor with a 2.6GHz quad-core CPU, 4GB RAM, and 32GB built-in storage. It has a CPU, NPU, and MCU (Micro Control Unit) built in.
Through the AI Power Saving Mode feature, the MCU chip is used when the internet network is not in use to save electricity consumption. ASUS says that through this feature, power savings of up to 46% can be achieved.
If you still want to use a wired connection, this router also comes with two 10Gbps plugs and four 2.5Gbps plugs for a stable internet connection with low latency.
This router also has various security features such as an ad blocker, a tracker blocker, a network intelligence tool, and an RF scanner. This feature gives users better control over their network, potentially protecting against threats and maintaining optimal performance during peak usage.
