If you’re looking for a pair of premium, no-frills headphones that aren’t from Sony or Bose, the leading German audio brand, Sennheiser, has recently introduced their latest wireless headphones, the Sennheiser HDB 630.
These headphones use the same chassis used in the Sennheiser Momentum 4 headphones, but in terms of other components, they use 42mm audio drivers covered by artificial leather ear cushions.
These headphones come with Bluetooth 5.2 wireless connection support and can be connected to the Smart Control Plus app that allows users to modify audio settings, adjust the audio mix and also set active noise cancellation.
In terms of connectivity, the HDB 630 headphones come with a choice of two wired connections, via a 3.5mm audio plug or USB Type-C, and one Bluetooth wireless connection as mentioned earlier.
In terms of audio codec support, it can process the aptX Adaptive audio codec if your device supports it for the best and most power-efficient audio streaming quality on the market today. Otherwise, these headphones also come with a USB Type-C adapter accessory that gives your device support for the codec. At the moment it is not known if these headphones support the LDAC audio codec which is more widely supported on Android devices on the market.
Speaking of power saving, these headphones can reportedly be used for 60 hours on a full charge and a 10-minute charge from empty allows you to use these headphones for seven hours without problems.
Currently, pre-orders for the Sennheiser HDB 630 headphones are open in selected markets at a price of around $499 (~RM2100). A search on the Sennheiser Malaysia website has not yielded any results so far, but our expectation is that it will be introduced for our market soon.
