Synology celebrated its 25th anniversary by sharing its journey and future plans at a special event today. Synology also emphasized its commitment to data security and support for digital transformation efforts, especially in the growing Southeast Asia region.
Current reports show that 93% of businesses in the region have embarked on digital transformation. However, increasingly complex cybersecurity issues continue to be a major challenge. With this in mind, Synology introduced solutions that aim to help organizations improve data protection and support digital operational needs more sustainably.
Earlier this year, Synology introduced ActiveProtect, a backup appliance for companies operating in multiple locations. It is available in several models with capacities ranging from 8TB to 140TB, and is equipped with security features such as non-alterable backup, Air-Gap support, and industry regulatory compliance.
The Synology PAS7700 was also introduced this year as Synology’s first enterprise storage system to fully utilize NVMe architecture. It is designed to support high-performance mission-critical workloads offering up to 2 million IOPS, 30GB/s data transfer speed, and less than 1 millisecond latency.
With a dual-processor design that can work simultaneously and support industry-standard data encryption, the PAS7700 is suitable for organizations that require high data speed and security. For now, pricing has not been officially disclosed as it depends on the configuration and will be offered through Synology’s reseller network.
In addition, Synology introduced new storage series such as the GS Series designed for large-scale storage needs, and the PAS Series for faster performance. Both support object storage and network connections of up to 400GB. To support teamwork, Synology has improved its collaboration tools with features such as file requests, file locks, and unlimited version history to facilitate data management and recovery.
At the same time, Synology introduced new platforms, namely Synology Chat Plus and Meet, which support functions such as video conferencing, instant meetings, and seminars. Both platforms will be integrated with Synology’s existing office applications and come with AI features such as content generation and automatic summarization to facilitate daily communication.
Synology also offers a smart monitoring system that enables centralized CCTV control across multiple locations with support for remote configuration and updates. The system also comes with AI features such as vehicle detection, intrusion detection and Instant Search that can help improve operational efficiency and security.
