Unpleasant comments can cause discomfort among users and the new feature introduced by Threads is seen as a positive step towards overcoming this issue.
Through it, users can now review and determine the comments they want to appear on each of their posts, thus giving them more control over the conversation in the app.
Users can activate this feature through the post update section by selecting the ‘Review and approve replies’ option.
It is in addition to the existing ‘Who can reply’ setting which includes options such as Anyone, Your Followers, Profiles You Follow, and Profiles You Mentioned.
With this feature, users can control the conversation more systematically and create a positive atmosphere without offending anyone.
Although there is no open indicator for unreviewed replies, commenters will receive a notification that their comments need to be approved by the author before they are displayed. This also means that the review process happens silently without affecting other users’ experience.
