Trump – America Will Resume Nuclear Tests That Were Stopped 33 Years Ago

On September 23, 1992, the Divider test was conducted in the Nevada desert. It was the last time the United States conducted a physical weapons test. There were no more physical nuclear weapons tests conducted by America to fulfill the UN Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty (CTBT). But after 33 years, President Trump announced that America would resume nuclear tests immediately.

According to Trump, this is because other countries are conducting their testing programs. To ensure the status of "the country with the largest nuclear weapons", Trump said America cannot allow itself to be overtaken by China or Russia. The statement given by Trump is quite strange considering that Russia has long had the largest nuclear weapons.

When the tests will resume is not yet known. US Secretary of War, Pete Hagseth refused to give an answer when questioned by reporters in Kuala Lumpur yesterday. Trump's announcement is believed to be a face-saving move after Russia announced the success of testing a nuclear-powered cruise missile that flew for 15 hours non-stop.
