Warner Bros Discovery confirmed that they are open to offers to be bought by interested entities. Previously, there were only rumors that WBD wanted to be bought by Paramount Global but the offer was rejected because it was said to be too low.
According to a CNBC report, the sale is in the form of all the company's assets or buying Warner Bros. and Discovery Global separately. Since the rumors of WBD wanting to be sold, they have also received offers from Netflix and Comcast. There is no information on how much the two companies are offering.
Through the purchase of WBD, the content of HBO Max, CBS News and CNN will be transferred along with the leading IP of DC superheroes, Harry Potter and Game of Thrones. WBD is experiencing various issues after undergoing its own merger process a few years ago. HBO Go was changed to Max before being changed back to HBO Max with the parent company being separated again from Discovery.
