The Sora app shows how easy it is to create fake videos that make them look real. OpenAI has been tightening its face-generation system to avoid being sued, but the issue of fake videos is only going to get worse in the near future. Today, YouTube is introducing a Likeness Detection feature that will detect artificial intelligence (AI)-generated content that contains your face.
It works similarly to the Content ID system but with a tab for detecting your face. Users need to upload their ID and take a short video of their face from several angles. This data is then used to detect whether their face is used in AI-generated videos. When detected, you will receive a notification similar to if your video is uploaded to another channel via Content ID.
The feature is still in Beta testing and is available to creators involved in the YouTube Partner Program.
