A Pair of Nike Shoes Modified to Become an SNES Game Console

If you are a fan of sneakers and retro video games, this modification project by Gustavo Bonzanini will probably be your favorite project.

In conjunction with the 35th anniversary of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System or SNES game console, he has developed an interesting concept that combines Nike Air Max 90 sneakers with the game console.

What he did was to paint the Nike Air Max 90 shoes in the gray and purple colors known as the color scheme of the SNES console. The internal components of the console are built using a Raspberry Pi Zero W minicomputer and running the RetroPie emulation software.

This minicomputer is loaded into the tongue of the shoe, and comes with an HDMI plug and RCA connection to connect to a modern television or a classic CRT. It is also loaded with a small battery that allows the console to be powered for 30 minutes.

The SNES Air can be seen as a hybrid of a console and a shoe that can be worn and played at the same time, and comes with support for connecting a game controller via cable or Bluetooth wireless connection.

Unfortunately, this is just a project by a SNES console enthusiast, so it is not for sale.
