AMD Confirms Plans for ZEN 6 and ZEN 7 CPU Series

AMD recently held a Financial Analyst Day event where the chipmaker presented its financial statements and future plans with investors and company owners.

During this latest Financial Analyst Day event, AMD confirmed two things, firstly that the ZEN 6 processor series will be launched next year, and that AMD will come with ZEN 7 processor technology after that.

For the AMD ZEN 6 processor series, AMD confirmed that it will be launched next year, probably around the third or fourth quarter as usual, and will come with two model options, namely AMD ZEN 6 and AMD ZEN 6c which is said to be the first processor series to be produced using TSMC's latest 2nm process.

The next-generation AMD Ryzen, Threadripper and EPYC CPU and APU processor series are expected to come using the ZEN 6 chip, but the ZEN 6c will be specifically produced for high core counts and energy efficiency, which is expected to be shown in other data center processor series later.

The ZEN 7 series of processors is expected to arrive around 2027 or 2028, and will feature newer technology and TSMC’s 16A semiconductor chip manufacturing process, if the rumors are true. The first chip to be produced using ZEN 7 technology will be the EPYC “Verano” data center chip.

Not many more details have been confirmed about this series of processors at the moment, except that the Ryzen consumer CPU series will likely be the first processors to come with support for the new “AM6” motherboard class when it launches.
