A few days ago we reported that Anker had launched two new power banks that can be used to charge two different types of devices, namely the Anker Laptop Powerbank A1695 and the Anker Nano Retractable Powerbank A1638.
We were recently given two powerbank accessories, and had the opportunity to test them for a while. Here are my thoughts on both powerbanks.
Anker Nano Retractable Powerbank A1638
The Anker Nano Retractable Powerbank A1638 (Anker Nano) comes with a compact design, but it is also packed with features that are rarely seen in other powerbanks. It comes with a battery capacity of 10,000 mAH or 36Whr and comes with a fast charging capability of 45W.
In terms of design, it is cuboid in shape and comes with a built-in 60cm long USB Type-C charging cable that can be retracted (retractable) and a USB 3.2 Type-C plug and a USB 3.2 Type-A plug that can be used to connect to the cable to charge other devices.
This Anker Nano powerbank also has a built-in screen display that shows the remaining battery percentage, battery health and temperature, along with the charging Watt value and the plug used to charge your device.
Meanwhile, the built-in charging cable is also used to charge this device and comes with a 30W battery charging rate to allow this battery to charge faster. The design of this Anker Nano powerbank is also quite compact and can be fitted in a backpack or handbag without taking up too much space.
Anker Laptop Powerbank A1695
If you need a powerbank with a much larger capacity and can charge two laptops at once, the Anker Laptop Powerbank A1695 (Anker Laptop) is a more suitable choice for you.
It comes with a capacity of 25,000 mAH or 96Whr with a charging speed of up to 165W and comes with two USB Type-C charging cables that can charge up to 100W. This capacity is enough to charge an Apple MacBook Pro laptop 1.3 times or an Apple iPhone 15 device 4.5 times.
One of the cables comes in a strap design that can support a weight of about 19-20kg, and can be used to charge laptops with a charging speed of 100W. It also comes with another USB Type-C cable that can be retracted 30cm long, similar to what is offered on the Anker Nano.
Meanwhile, it also has two more charging ports, including a USB Type-A and USB Type-C port that can also be used to charge other devices, making it capable of charging up to four devices at once.
If you want to charge this powerbank at the fastest rate, the Anker Laptop Powerbank's USB Type-C port can charge the built-in battery at a rate of 100W if you connect it to a charger and cable that supports fast charging.
The Anker Laptop Powerbank also comes with a built-in screen display that shows the remaining battery percentage, battery health and temperature, along with the charging Wattage and the port used to charge your device.
More importantly, both the Anker Nano and the Anker Laptop Powerbank come with flight safety certification. The Anker Laptop Powerbank in particular has a 96Whr battery capacity that allows it to be taken with you on flights, just slightly lower than the 100WHr limit set by global airlines.
In my opinion, these two powerbanks meet slightly different needs. Anker Nano, for example, is suitable for charging smart devices if your device runs out of battery in the middle of the day, or you need your device for navigation or entertainment purposes at the end of the day if you are outside the house.
With Anker Laptop Powerbank, it is suitable for charging all types of electronic devices that can be charged using a USB Type-C plug without problems, from laptops to smart devices to smartwatches, earphones, headphones and others at once.
What I like most is that both powerbanks also have a fast internal battery charging rate. For Anker Nano, it comes with a battery charging rate as fast as 30W, while for Anker Laptop Charger, it can be charged as fast as 90-100W.
This means that both powerbanks can be charged from empty to full in about 1 hour 15-20 minutes at maximum speed.
The presence of a built-in charging cable with fast round-trip charging capacity for both powerbank models also means that you no longer have to worry about leaving a cable at home or at your accommodation again from now on.
If there is a need to share charging with others, they can use their own cables to connect their devices to your powerbank.
Both the Anker Nano Retractable Powerbank 1638 and Anker Laptop Powerbank 1695 powerbanks are already available in the local market at RM209 and RM399 and can be purchased via the official Anker Malaysia sales site on Shopee and Lazada.
