The popular opinion among educators is that ChatGPT is destroying the academic world. Papers can be “written” in five minutes by lazy students without thinking and there are already several AI-generated exam cheating tools. Despite ChatGPT’s bad image in the eyes of teachers, OpenAI has launched ChatGPT for Teachers specifically for teachers,
ChatGPT for Teachers is aimed at teachers who teach kindergarten through 12th grade (K-12) in the United States. It will be offered free of charge to more than 400,000 K-12 teachers in the United States until June 2027.
It offers a workspace to create classroom learning materials, collaborate with colleagues and adapt using artificial intelligence (AI) tools. In addition, test questions, teaching documents and materials developed by other teachers can also be accessed through ChatGPT for Teachers.
