Previously, we have heard reports that Apple will work with Google to develop a special Gemini artificial intelligence model, which will power their virtual assistant, Siri. Further to that, it is now reported that Apple will pay around $1 billion to Google for the purpose.
Apple is expected to use a 1.2 trillion parameter version to power the new Siri, allowing Siri to perform various tasks through it. This model will run on Apple's own servers, in an effort to ensure privacy, in addition to being optimized for Chinese users based on local regulations there.
At the same time, Apple is said to continue developing their model, and the use of this Google model is temporary in order to solve the development delays and technical problems faced by Apple.
