Flagship and Affordable iPhone Launches to Be Separated Starting in 2026

Apple typically launches new iPhone models in the fall, which is September, with the flagship iPhone Pro and affordable iPhone models launching simultaneously. But starting next year, the launches of these two models will be separated, according to a report by Mark Gurman at Bloomberg.

The iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and a foldable iPhone are expected to launch in the fall of 2026. Then 6 months after that – the iPhone 18, iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2 will be launched in the spring of 2027.

The launch in two different windows will ease the burden on the supply chain because not all devices need to be launched at the same time as the new Apple Watch like now. It will also prevent sales of the Pro model from decreasing due to the availability of non-Pro models while ensuring the company’s revenue is consistent throughout the year.

This is a tactic that has long been used by Chinese manufacturers such as Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo, which spread the introduction of new models throughout the year.
