Infinix GT 30 Review – Balanced Features and Daily Use

The arrival of the Infinix GT 30 adds a new option to the mid-range smartphone segment. This device comes with balanced specifications, suitable for users looking for a combination of daily performance, stable gaming experience and affordable price.

Features such as the trigger button and the back panel with a mechanical illuminated design are among the main attractions of this device. It is also marketed as a budget gaming smartphone, but the question is how practical is it in real-world use?

I think that the design of the Infinix GT 30 has the potential to cause various reactions among users. This is because several elements featured on this device seem less in line with the current trend for 2025. For example, its camera bump recalls the design style of devices around 2021 which is now considered somewhat outdated compared to the latest design trends.

Despite this, I still think that Infinix has managed to make the design look relevant. This is evident when seen in the context of an affordable gaming smartphone that features cyberpunk design elements.

In addition, the back panel is designed with a prominent square geometric pattern, thus providing a different design touch. For me, this feature indirectly strengthens the identity of the device and at the same time highlights its unique character in the increasingly challenging smartphone market.

In addition, the LED system known as Mechanical Light Waves also plays an important role in increasing the attractiveness of the device. At first glance, I feel that it may seem like just a gimmick because its feature is similar to the Pulse Light offered by vivo. However, its use is actually more interesting, and even adds value to the design. At the same time, it also feels quite neat and detailed in terms of its offerings.

Interestingly, the lighting can be customized to respond to various functions such as incoming calls, notifications, and music being played. Through Party Mode, users are given three rhythm lighting effects (rhythm lighting) options including a setting where the light will always be on even when the screen is closed. However, this feature also affects battery consumption, and therefore needs to be considered in terms of energy efficiency.

In addition, users can also set the light effect duration to determine how long the light will flash. Meanwhile, the Flip to Flash function allows the light to flash automatically when the device is turned over and the screen is turned on.

This concept basically reminds me of the approach used on Nothing devices, especially when the Party Mode Rhythm mode is activated in the settings. However, the level of freedom of control on the Infinix is still not comparable to that offered by Nothing.

Next, among the features that caught my attention were the GT Shoulder Triggers. At first, I thought it was a physical button, but in fact it is a part that responds to finger touches to allow quick access.

Through the settings area, users can set various functions such as the camera, flashlight, and other options according to needs. In terms of experience, the haptic support may be simple, but it still provides a sufficient sense of responsiveness. In addition, it is able to detect finger touches well and thus provide immediate responses.

In addition, this device is also equipped with a power button and audio adjustment on the right side, while the left side does not house any buttons or ports. At the top, there is an infrared emitter along with a stereo-type speaker while the bottom houses a USB-C port, an additional speaker and a slot for a SIM card which thus completes the entire design of the device. The use of a stereo audio system here provides a clear sound experience and is simply pleasant to hear for daily use such as watching videos or listening to music.

Then, a 6.78-inch AMOLED front screen is used, which is indeed the norm for most devices today. In fact, it is the same as the previous Pro version, thus giving users the opportunity to enjoy a Pro-level experience at a lower price. In addition, this screen is also covered with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i.

However, logically, I did not test its durability by scratching or dropping it because no one buys a device for that purpose. So far, my experience has shown that the level of durability is satisfactory. Although there are fine scratches, they only appear on the additional screen protector and not on the original panel.

In terms of performance, my experience using this screen is quite convincing, especially when the 144Hz mode is activated. Scrolling feels responsive whether when browsing social media, playing games, or completing daily tasks including replying to messages. In addition, the system operates smoothly without any problems or delays.

For me, the support of this 144Hz screen is a big advantage, because not all devices at this price offer this feature, thus making it a very valuable added value. However, not all users will really take full advantage of it as it also affects battery consumption.

Hardware And Software

The Infinix GT 30 uses the Mediatek Dimensity 7400 chip with a combination of 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage. In addition, it also offers virtual memory through the Memfusion function up to 8GB RAM, thus bringing the total to 16GB RAM.

However, the storage cannot be expanded further, which means users are limited to the original configuration. Therefore, the 256GB version is my recommended option for 2025. Next, I will share the benchmark scores and some close comparisons.

However, those are just numbers and what's more important is the real-world experience. In everyday use, this phone is reliable as there is no performance drop or lag when multitasking, switching between apps or navigating the interface.

All the while, it feels smooth and responsive like a regular mid-range device. When compared to the latest device chips, this one is definitely just adequate. However, in its class it works well.

In terms of gaming experience, the GT 30 can be considered adequate because it is able to run most titles stably. For example, Honor of Kings can be played smoothly, but the highest graphics settings only support up to 60FPS even at maximum options.

The same goes for Mobile Legends: Bang Bang (MLBB) which is able to reach 60FPS at ultra settings. Occasionally the frame rate can drop to 51FPS but such drops are rare and usually remain around 59FPS. Overall performance is seen to be stable without response delays or system failures, even in battles involving many characters.

Meanwhile, Call of Duty Mobile (CODM) can be played at 90FPS which provides a smoother experience compared to other games. In addition, the thermal management of this device is also quite good because it only feels warm and the system continues to run stably without affecting overall performance.

Overall, the GT 30 offers stable and reliable performance for the mid-range. However, when compared to flagship chips or dedicated gaming devices, it clearly has limitations such as the FPS rate being locked at 60 for some games.

The addition of GT Triggers also helped improve my gaming experience especially in CODM where instant response is essential. However, if you are not the type of person who likes to play mobile games and think that these buttons are useless, don't worry because they can be customized to perform various other actions.

For example, when not in game mode, I use it as a camera button or to turn on the flashlight, which makes it more practical in daily use because I don't have to open the phone to find the app.

The GT 30 uses the Android 15-based XOS 15 operating system which is equipped with various AI-based features. Through AI Studio, there are several main functions offered. AI Eraser works to remove unwanted subjects in the picture, but the replacement results are sometimes less accurate and can look fragmented.

Next, AI Sharpen Plus focuses more on enhancing the color of the picture to make it look brighter than sharpening the image. In addition, AI Extender supports magnification up to 140% with the option to maintain the aspect ratio using freeform or adjust the rotation angle and the results look realistic.

In addition, there is also a Dynamic Bar that functions to display important information with a concept that is almost the same as Dynamic Island. Infinix also equips this device with various other AI features such as Folax Voice which allows voice control, Folax Smart Touch which provides smart gestures, Call Assistant which helps manage calls and Translation Assistant which facilitates the translation of text or dialogue.

Apart from that, Social Assistant supports social media interactions, Document Assistant facilitates document management, while Writing Assistant provides better writing suggestions. AI Note is used to organize notes, Recording Summary can produce summaries from voice recordings, while AI Subtitle provides automatic subtitles for videos.

In addition, AI Wallpaper Generator allows users to create wallpapers according to the chosen theme, while AI Gallery organizes images and videos more systematically for easier search and management. Next, Circle to Search facilitates quick searches directly from the screen while AI Suggestion provides relevant action suggestions according to the context of use. Finally, Game Accelerator functions to optimize the gaming experience by managing system and network resources for a smoother experience.

Camera and Image Quality

The quality offered by the Infinix GT 30 can be considered average. However, there are several aspects that still have the potential to be improved so that the user experience can be improved overall.

Starting with the AI Cam mode, I found the resulting images to be only satisfactory. When I tried to zoom in to maximum up to 15X, the image quality deteriorated significantly, especially in low light conditions. The images taken looked blurry and had almost no clear details. In addition, there is a noticeable effect of artificial intelligence (AI)-based processing that makes the image look less natural.

This device also offers the option to slim down the shape of the face, shoulders and body, but the results sometimes look awkward and unrealistic. In terms of focus, the camera tends to focus on the center of the image while the edges seem to lose sharpness. Meanwhile, in terms of color, I noticed that the tones produced were a bit less contrast, causing the image to look mediocre.

For portrait mode, the separation between the subject and the background is not very neat, causing the results to be only satisfactory and not stand out. In addition, the bokeh effect produced is more of a normal blur, without providing the depth expected. In terms of skin tones, it looks a little saturated, and this weakness becomes more noticeable when the picture is taken in low lighting conditions.

For Super Night mode, the quality offered is just adequate and enough to complete basic tasks. However, it cannot be expected to be more. Details are still there but not very sharp. Although there is noise, it is not too noticeable. Street lights or light sources that are too bright also cause the effect of excessive light that is very noticeable. In addition, there is no manual control for exposure because the camera sets the control automatically.

For Night Portrait mode, the resulting colors appear too faded with dull skin tones. In addition, the experience of using this mode also shows a slight delay before the picture is successfully taken. In addition, the recording results tend to be too bright, making the quality less consistent.

In terms of video recording, the Infinix GT 30 supports resolutions up to 4K30FPS and is also equipped with a stabilization mode. Overall, the quality of the recorded video is satisfactory with a good level of sharpness.

However, the colors produced look a little faded and not very bright. Meanwhile, recording in 1080P resolution provides results that are almost the same as 4K recording, making it a still relevant option for daily use.

Interestingly, this device also offers a vlog function that is suitable for users who like to record trips or produce compilation videos directly from the phone. Even so, this function is indeed useful, but the template options available are quite limited, so it may not be flexible for users who want more variety.

Overall, my experience using the Infinix GT 30 camera can be considered average. It is able to meet the basic needs of photography and videography. However, for users who care about more professional and consistent results, this device may not be the main choice. On the other hand, for casual users who prioritize basic functions and a reasonable budget, the GT 30 still offers value that is worth considering.

Battery and Charging

The battery life on this device can be said to be good in terms of daily use. With a capacity of 5500mAh, it can last all day even when used for gaming, video streaming and receiving constant notifications. Meanwhile, on lighter usage, the battery can last up to about a day and a half.

This performance can be considered standard as most devices in the same class also offer comparable battery life. In terms of charging, the device comes with a 45W fast charger included in the box. The battery can be charged from 0 – 50% in about 30 minutes while a full charge takes less than an hour. In addition, it also supports ByPass Charging to reduce heat during gaming as well as 10W reverse charging.

Conclusion

The Infinix GT 30 can be considered a mid-range device that offers stable performance for everyday use. It is capable of running popular games with consistent frame rates, although there are limitations on some fronts.

In terms of design, some elements may not be completely in line with current trends, but still work well. Thermal management is also satisfactory with the device only feeling warm even when used for long gaming sessions. Battery life provides good endurance throughout the day.

The Infinix GT 30 is suitable for those who want a device that balances everyday performance, casual gaming experience, and long-lasting battery without having to spend a lot on a high-performance device. It is aimed more at general users and casual gamers than those looking for high-level gaming performance or a completely premium design.
