iCAUR V23 Electric SUV Launched at a Starting Price of RM119,800

A few months after the launch of the iCAUR 03, now the car brand under the Cherry umbrella is back with the latest electric SUV, the iCAUR V23 for the Malaysian market, which will be sold at a starting price of RM119,800.

In terms of design, the iCAUR V23 looks a little different from the iCAUR 03 which uses a boxy and square design, but for this iCAUR V23 it highlights a round design in addition to combining two different concepts, namely a modern minimal design and a classic rugged car design. The iCAUR V23 design also reminds me of the Suzuki Jimny and Mercedes G Wagon.

For the Malaysian market, it comes with two types of variants, namely 2WD and iWD, just like the previous iCAUR 03. The 2WD version uses a motor that produces 100kW of power and 180 Nm of torque. Meanwhile, the iWD or Smart Wheel Drive version has two motors at the front and rear that produce 155kW of power with 292 Nm of torque.

The battery on the 2WD version is 59.9kWh which provides a range of up to 401 km (NEDC). The iWD version is loaded with an 81.8 kWh NMC battery with a range of up to 501km (NEDC). In terms of charging, both variants use the same AC charger which is 6.6kW but differs for DC charging. The 2WD version uses 85kW and the iWD version uses 104kW. The iCAUR V23 is also complete with V2L features which are suitable for uses such as camping.

The iCAUR V23 2WD version will be sold at a price tag of RM119,800 while the iWD version will be sold at a price tag of RM132,800. In terms of warranty, iCAUR will provide 7 years or after reaching 150,000 km, 8 years or after reaching 160,000 km for the battery and power motor. More interestingly, iCAUR offers free battery replacement if the battery health level falls below 70% within 8 years. For the initial promotion, customers will get a 7kW AC charger, a 6.86″ instrument cluster worth RM1,000, and an extended warranty to 10 years or after reaching 200,000 km.
